Today in Warsaw Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and the University of Warsaw signed an appendix to the Agreement on the scientific and educational cooperation. The document was signed by Zygmunt Lalak, Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the University of Warsaw and Valentyna Yakubiv, the First Vice-Rector for Scientific and International Cooperation of Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University.
This agreement is to attract new opportunities for the development of a joint scientific project – the International Scientific Center “Observatory”. The observatory situated on Mount Pip Ivan is not only a unique architectural monument, but also a powerful scientific and research facility that can become a center for international research in astronomy, meteorology, climatology, and ecology.
Both parties agreed to jointly work on the search and implementation of grant programs, to create an international scientific journal, and to conduct academic lecturers and students exchanges.
Among the important issues discussed, one should single out the cooperation between universities in creating the International Center for Student Youth in Mykulychyn. This center will become a meeting place for both Ukrainian and Polish youth engaged in intercultural dialogue, as well as joint educational and social initiatives. It will contribute to the integration of students into the international academic environment and expand their opportunities for personal and professional development.
Jan Malicki, the Director of the East European Studies Department at the University of Warsaw that would take part the implementation of the prospective joint projects, drew attention to the fact that they would strengthen scientific and cultural ties between Ukraine and Poland.
